Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

I graduated from Lynden Christian in 2004 and took a year to travel and learn with YWAM in Barbados and Albania. During that year I felt God calling me to attend a Bible college. I went to Kuyper College in Grand Rapids, MI, and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Bible/Theology and Cross-Cultural Missions.

My wife Megan and I moved from Michigan to Bangkok, Thailand in 2010, where we worked at a small Christian school. I taught history for six years, took a couple of years off to be a stay-at-home dad with our son Gerrit, and then returned as a substitute teacher for three more years.

My family moved to Lynden in 2021. We attend Third CRC in Lynden and love being a part of both a school and church community. Megan and I have two sons, Gerrit and Theophilus. I enjoy cooking, being outside, and telling dad jokes.
